The Origins of Wise Earth Ayurveda

Wise Earth Ayurveda is the oldest known holistic life ways and medicine paradigm in the world. Through Maya Tiwari’s Inner Medicine work and vision, the Wise Earth School is the first and only school to have restored the beneficent principles and practices that are deeply rooted in nature’s intelligence. These principles provide us the methodology for the integration of body, mind and spirit. Maya Tiwari belongs to the preeminent lineage order of Veda Vyasa. This unique education is non-clinical and non-dualistic in nature, unlike modern clinical models of Ayurveda which education is largely prescriptive. An Education is Wise Earth Ayurveda teaches us to mine our own extraordinary resource of inner medicine by living everyday in sadhana, preserving inner harmony and world peace. Wise Earth School is one of the only known schools in the world that is recognized for Maya Tiwari’s work in Ayurveda (which is based in the Atharva Veda), a tradition that has been out of practice since the beginning of India’s medieval age (10th century, A.D.).

Path of the Practitioner

The primary intent of the Wise Earth Ayurveda Training is to teach, nurture and guide practitioners of all backgrounds to implement Maya Tiwari’s unique Inner Medicine Healing methodology of Wise Earth Ayurveda into everyday living. Moreover, practitioners are encouraged to undertake this work to instruct, nurture, and foster the growth of inner harmony, wholeness and communal wellness in their own communities world wide.

As we begin to change our attitude and embrace Mother Earth, we are inevitably drawn closer to the pure nature of ahimsa- loving respect for ourselves and for each other. In this way, the work of accepting the state of brokenness as a necessary function of healing into wholeness ripples outward, influencing the state of peacefulness and harmony throughout the world. These teachings make Ayurveda an affordable means of physical, mental and spiritual health care. Wise Earth Ayurveda programs are designed for those who have a strong desire to reclaim personal awareness and global consciousness and to help others in at-risk communities to achieve abundant health, an education to which they would otherwise not be privileged. Graduates of the Wise Earth Ayurveda comprise a wide variety of health instructors/practitioners, yoga teachers, artists, nutritionists, cooks, medical doctors, therapists, nurses, social advocates and so on. Wise Earth Ayurveda offers courses for beginners and advanced instructors, practitioner and community advocates.

The Unique Programs of WEA

Wise Earth Ayurveda presents these restored, long-lost practices of Ayurveda through carefully developed training programs. The ancient and timeless practice of Food, Breath, and Sound; Ayurvedic Health Care for Women; and the Pancha Karma Sadhanas are a few of the training programs offered. Amongst these programs the Trainee will learn Lunar Shakti practices such as Uttara Vasti for women’s wellness and Bhumi Vidya, the Earth Therapies, which had been defunct in Ayurveda for more than 300 years. For example, Bhu Sveda , a therapy performed on the daubed surface of the earth or in pits dug into the earth, is among the many healing arts that have been unearthed and restored to new life by Maya Tiwari.

Three Levels of Practitioner Training
